Denim – Back and Better than Ever

  • Raegan Smith ’20

As the summer comes to a close and fall begins to approach, denim becomes your best friend. From denim jackets over dresses to mom jeans with a sweater, I am bringing you all the latest denim trends this fall.

I love pairing a cropped classic, black, or colored denim jacket over a skirt or dress on days when it is colder in the morning but low-80s in the afternoon. My best suggestion for finding a jean jacket is Yes, Amazon. It’s easy and quick to purchase a jean jacket – cropped or oversized – for around $30. Go online and search for the type of jacket you are looking for, and I promise it will spruce up your wardrobe in no time!

Sweater weather is approaching, and all sorts of jean types are in-style for everyday school outfits. The mom jean has made a return and I am hoping it is here to stay! My current favorite pair is from AGOLDE (90’s High Rise Loose Fit). The classic skinny jean will always be a go-to for school days. Pair skinny jeans with an oversized sweater and some sneakers or boots and you’ve got the perfect fall outfit. Mother, Paige, and Madewell are reliable options for a fitted pair of jeans. Colorful jeans are also a great way to bring some excitement to your outfits. Whether they are black, red, or yellow, this is a fun addition for the fall.

Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone with your denim. Play around with color, rips, and styles! For instance, denim on denim is an interesting thing to try. Be experimental with your fashion choices because it is a great way to express yourself. Why not?
